Paddock Wood's Winter Warmer

My latest missive in Vue Weekly was posted this afternoon, so I thought I would share it with you. I review Saskatoon micro Paddock Wood’s Winter Ale. Winter?? But it was 11 degrees today, you say. True, but we all know (admit it) that more snow will come. Plus, there was a snafu that caused it to get delayed. It was originally planned as part of my winter beer series, but got misplaced. It is a very good beer, so a late review is better than no review for such a deserving specimen.

Besides, it is one of the best examples I have tasted (along with Yukon’s Lead Dog Ale) of a Winter Warmer, a lovely British beer style with a marvelously self-evident name. Obviously we western Canadians understand both winter and beer.
